As a crochet designer I haven't actually looked at other patterns, strange I know , thankfully the patterns I have created, people have understood. I tend to go over and over them until I have tweaked them to perfection (or my version of perfection!). It's so rewarding when people love your work and share in your joy of making the item and see their take on your design.
I hope to take you on my journey of discovery on patterns, new wools, new techniques that I come across, I will still add my own designs as well along the way.
My First Pattern from my stock pile is Hook a Heart by Sara Huntington in "Simply Crochet" Issue 53, you can use any DK yarn and a 3.50mm hook. I hooked this heart using a 3.00mm hook and DK red yarn from my left over wool stock, it was easy quick and looks great. You can then sew the heart onto a notebook which looks good, but I wanted to reuse the heart again and again, so I attached the heart to elastic and placed a wooden heart at the back to secure the knot. Now I can just transfer my heart onto a new notebook when the old one's full. I thought this would be a great Valentine gift idea as it can be used for a Diary, Notebook, Reading Book , Drawing Book or Organiser.
You could use any heart pattern you like.
